Notice of Utility Rate Increase
Please look for this notice in your mail within the next week.
Dear Valued Resident,
This letter is to inform you of upcoming adjustments to the Village water and sewer rates which were adopted by Village Council on January 15, 2025 and will be reflected on the March 2025 bill. These rate increases are necessary due to rising operational costs, increased material prices, and critical infrastructure upgrades.
Under this year's new rates, an average family of four using approximately 7,750 gallons of water per month will see an increase of $14.49 on their combined water and sewer bill
($110.60 vs. $96.11 ). Low water users using less than 1,000 gallons of water per month will see a $2.07 increase ($15.80 vs. $13.73).
Despite these necessary rate increases, we are proud to remain one of the least expensive utilities in the county- the new rates are as much as 30% less than other neighboring providers and carry with them no administrative, capital, or debt-service fees.
Utility rates are established by Council and reflected in the Village Codified Ordinances, typically set in multi-year intervals. Council last set rates in 2019 for the period 2020-2023, with rates being frozen in 2024 due to long-term utility project planning.
Per Council Ordinances 31-2024 and 32-2024, the Village of Granville's aggregated rates for water and sewer for the period 2025 through 2029 are outlined in the table below.
If you are a customer with only water service or only sewer service, click HERE for a chart explaining the non-aggregated rate increases.
The Village of Granville takes great pride in the level and quality of service we provide our residents.
If you have any questions regarding the new rate structure or other billing questions, please call our Utility Billing Clerk at 740-587-1400.
