Granville Planning Commission and Board of Zoning and Building Appeals Seeking Applicants
On November 5, 2024 Village electors voted in favor of amending the Village Charter to allow for an increase in the number of members on both the Granville Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals from five (5) to seven (7) members. Both bodies are seeking to fill the two (2) additional seats with qualified volunteers who are interested in serving their community. Appointments to these positions will have terms of three (3) years which will commence on March 6, 2025 and run through March 31, 2028.
The Granville Planning Commission is responsible for the review and approval of site and architectural plan reviews, rezoning requests, and subdivision development. They meet twice per month, on the second and fourth Monday, at 6:00pm. Meetings are held on the first floor of Village Hall in Council Chambers.
The Board of Zoning and Building Appeals is responsible for the review of appeals, variances from zoning ordinances, conditional and non-conforming uses, and changes to the zoning map. They meet one time per month, on the second Thursday, at 5:30pm. Meetings are held on the first floor of Village Hall in Council Chambers.
Applicants must be qualified electors of the Village of Granville. Any persons interested in serving as a member on either of these bodies shall submit a completed application and resume to Granville Village Planning Department, PO Box 514, Granville, 43023, or via email to village@granville.oh.us, or submitted in-person to the Village Offices located at 141 East Broadway by January 17, 2025.
